Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
We're getting into the last days to enter/sign-up! We've got a group of 6 judges from NS making the trip over, plus the same in judges from PEI, so I think it's going to be a great set of folks giving you feedback on your beers. Looking forward to a great Brewnosers turnout (though of course we won't know whose beers are whose until the Gala)!

Thanks again, Chris, and everyone else who reached out to them to push for better judging. Looking forward to submitting for this one.chalmers wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:10 pmWe're getting into the last days to enter/sign-up! Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
Thanks Chris. It's great that they're stepping up their game this year. Sadly my own beer is not even good enough for my lowly standards so I don't have one to submit this year but best of luck to those who do.chalmers wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:10 pmWe're getting into the last days to enter/sign-up! Well I thought I'd be submitting for this one, looks like my CO2 finally kicked or a leak got introduced somewhere when I was swapping kegs. May still enter if I can manage to get somewhere to fill it in time

Well, it is the Murphy Group so I think any cash prizes are probably still chump change lol

Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
we pulled back our west coast entry...Just wasn't up to par. May have been a yeast health issue (or lack of any aging )...but I know some of the judges, and don't want them tasting our shitty beer lol.

Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
My west coast was kind of meh too, I think I was too light on the 60min addition.
I thought the submission date was tomorrow, I just got CO2 this afternoon and am going to see if it's possible to get it carbed and bottled before they close tonight, very prepared this year
Not likely but I'm going to give it a shot! Will probably end up with bottles full of foam...

Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
A heads up that if anyone ran out of time to get their entries registered/delivered to your local Gahan, you have until the end of Monday to do so. They've reopened the registration event: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/2020-mariti ... 7865493865
Re: registration fees, for full disclosure, they are paying for the accommodations for the traveling judges, so your fees are going somewhere useful. And we promise to give you great feedback for your fees (kinda the whole reason we go through the BJCP).

Damn, wish I knew they were going to be extending the deadline. I maybe would have been able to avoid a lot of foamy mess .

Re: Maritime Homebrew Challenge
Well, that was all rather unexpected. I brewed for this, but I didn't think it was ready. I'd actually talked myself out of submitting.
