DAY OF WRECKONING - THURSDAY MARCH 8TH

Post by NASH » Fri Mar 02, 2012 1:49 pm

The time is nigh folks....

Day Of Wreckoning is this Thursday March 8th with launch at 5:00 PM.

Wreckoning Imperial Stout is brewed with plenty of west coast hops and 8 grains then aged on oak. I hammered the nitrogen to it and we'll be pouring through a stout faucet. Pure deliciousness.

Vital Stats:
Gravity - 22.1 P / 1.092
IBUs ~ 100+ (132 calculated)
Hop Rate – 2.0 lbs/bbl
ABV - 10 %
Hops - Warrior, Cascade
Colour ~ 68 SRM
Malts - Pale Ale, Melanoidin, Munich, Crystal 150, Carastan, Black Patent, Chocolate
Adjuncts - Roasted Barley

I hope to see some of you out for a glass or three :spilly:

Meh, not enough hops

How do I get my hands on one without having to drive a 1000 Kms each way?

Well let's see, if you fly over you'd only need to drive about 25 km's or so each way on this end

I will likely take pity on you and bottle one up and mail over to you, the main batch is on N2 but there might be a little keg kicking around my place somewhere that's on CO2 :cheers2:

I believe chalmers has some beer going to these guys on an upcoming trip, you could send it with him.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Sounds good to me :spilly: Yeah, Chalmers will be over before too long.

BTW, Day of Wreckoning might not be far off track for that date http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/SciTech/20120 ... th-120307/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sorry I wasn't able to make it, I was in Baie Verte, NL, fixing up a gold mine. But I'm heading down this afternoon to make up for it!

No worries brother, it's all good. There wasn't many of the club members out for the release, 3 or 4 at best - so we sold lots to the minions  :cheers2:
