Barrel Aged Fog Burner

Post by akr71 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:46 pm

Ol Fog Burner has been released according to FB and the barrel aged are being numbered (not for sale yet). If anyone is heading down to grab some, I would love 2 or 3 of the Glenora aged. 1000 this year instead of 500.

I'd love 2 or 3 bottles as well. I would imagine by the time the 24th rolls around and I get to the city there won't be much left.

Maybe Titus will let you buy 12 instead of six.

Not that the bottle numbers really mean anything, but I got number 2! They said Daniel probably kept number 1.

Lucky bugger!

There was no restriction on bottles of BA-OFB last year. Or, the restriction was higher than the 24 I bought.

How much are the glasses?
And is the BAOFB the same price as last year?
I'd take a couple and maybe a glass from anyone PEI-bound.

I'll be driving through Amherst and PEI Monday. I can pick up some bottles of the BA and glasses. Will report back on what I'm able to pick up, and lemme know if I should change the amounts here:

So far, I am counting:
akr: 2-3 bottles and a glass
jeff: 2-3 bottles and a glass
mgc: 2 bottles and a glass
TimGr: shutup Tim, you showoff
KMcK: nothing
PEIBG: 2 bottles and a glass
Your mother: a box of roses

Hmmm. I didn't realize I'm on the Amherst P.E.I. route. Or maybe that was a statement about me in general.

Dang, and here I was trying to show off without sounding like I was showing off... Am I that transparent?

Oh well. As long as I'm gloating - :moon: :finger:

Thanks Chris, I'd really appreciate that. Along with the beer I have for you I'll likely have a bottle or two for hogie if you don't mind taking them along.

I got 2 dozen of the BA OFB, and 6 glasses. I got an unnumbered bottle of the BA OFB, so I win, right? Somehow it passed by the QC inspector.
I'll be passing through SAAZ country around lunch Monday, hopefully that works for all parties.

Unnumbered? Epic win. Is this like Charlie's Golden Ticket or something? Does Garrison have Oompa Loompas?

Thanks so much Chris. As per usual, I'll no doubt be around so feel free to make this your drop off point if you'd like.

Nice find! It's probably a mistake though. Probably filled raspberry wheat or something.

Has anyone actually tried a bottle yet? I haven't seen any reports. I'm getting over a cold so I don't want to crack a bottle til I get my sense of smell back.

Has anybody asked them what they do with the old barrels?

The time Lorne had his barleywine on tap via my handpump, was, well, redonculous. I don't think anyone, including staff, was sober by about 6 pm.

The BA bottles were $13 each, and the glasses were $11.44. Didn't realize how expensive the glasses were till I checked out. I hope that's OK with everyone.
They are only slightly thicker (and therefore nicer?) than the ones The Bruery was GIVING AWAY when you did a sampler tasting at the brewery. Same size and shape, however.
