New Garrison Brew Next Week

Post by PEIBeerGuy » Sat Feb 05, 2011 1:18 pm

I heard (OK, read, on Facebook) that Garrison has a new beer coming out next week. Any ideas or info as to what it will be?

BTW, I was made aware of the Brewnosers by "chalmers". Don't hold it against him.

Haven't heard anything myself. Nothing advertised out front, just walked by.

The Baltic Porter came out this weekend. Might be that.

Welcome, Steve. We blame whatever we can on Chalmers because he's out of town so often, but always forgive him when he brings back a haul of good stuff from foreign lands.

You should list your blog under website on your profile if you want more of us to know about it.

Hey, folks. Thanks for the welcomes.
I've been on the GCP blog, just never sent my addy in. Maybe I'll do so.

The new beer isn't the porter. It got mentioned in passing in the comments under a pic of the freshly-bottled porter on FB, though. I inquired about the new beer, but was just told that more info would be out about it next week.

Maybe it`s last year Brew-off winner? That was a wit, right?

It was a Wit, but I believe that would be released on Mar 17, when this year's winner is announced (at least that's how it went down in 2010).

I saw that comment too. They've got a version of Hop Yard brewed with Maritime malt and hops coming soon, but they weren't planning to even change the label, so that's likely not it. And they referred to it as "a new beer" so doesn't sound like it's an annual release like Fog Burner. Unless it's the Fog Burner they've had in Glenora barrels.

Looks like Garrison is slow to announce it, but it's on the shelves at Premier - Czech Pilsner.

And the moment I say that - the announcement:

Pils today, Fog Burner tomorrow, Barrel-aged Fog Burner Friday. Only 500 bottles of the Barrel Aged.

Pils, 2011 Old Fog Burner, and barrel-aged Fog Burner are coming out this week. Definitely looking forward to the aged OFB.

If someone happens to grab an extra bottle of the aged OFB for me, I'd be most grateful. I've still got some '09 & '10 so I can do a vertical with 3 years (and maybe the barrel aged).

I want to try the pilsner, even though it's not my favourite style. Looking forward to the higher-abv Fog Burner, too. Great beer.
But I DEF. want a couple of bottles of the aged Fog Burner. Only 500 bottles? Damn! I'll be sending a couple emails right... now!

and I'll do my best to save that OFB vertical for the next time I can make a meeting. Spring looks do-able.

My plan is to go right at 10. Screw work! I will report in to see how things went, and how crazy (if at all) the lineup is.

That's my plan. I'm grabbing a couple for Jeff too.

Curious why they've been so quiet on price. Has anyone seen anything?

I can make it there today, but tomorrow is iffy, then I'm gone for the next 2 weeks. Hmmm....perhaps I'll have to make a special trip in tomorrow.

I'd make sure to call first. I just called about 30 minutes ago and the woman I spoke with said they were hoping to get it in the fridge by mid afternoon tomorrow. I was trying to see if it was available today...wishful thinking!
