GreatBrewEh brew pump
Hey everyone I just came across a Canadian vendor of a new brew pump. It's way cheaper than a march pump (and lower specs), but still... It might be worth a try for someone.

Old pump new way of marketing it. These have been used for a long time for water heating applications:

According to the manufacturers Ryton plastic molding is not foodgrade. It is however food safe. Same thing with the chugger/march pumps.

Looks like a good deal. I am trying to justify the expence for a March.

Re: GreatBrewEh brew pump
I have one March 809 and my 2nd pump is a GE Dishwasher pump (for my HLT water pumping). I've not used either yet since it's part of my new brewery build but will post when I do for comparison's sake. I thought it was worth a try at $20 for the GE pump on ebay. Here's a link to someone using similar pumps in their system:

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between food grade and food safe?OntarioBeerkegs wrote:According to the manufacturers Ryton plastic molding is not foodgrade. It is however food safe.

Re: GreatBrewEh brew pump
Just entered.

I'm just guessing here, but I think food grade means its certified for use in commercial food production, and food safe means it won't leach anything into your beer, but don't get caught using it in a professional breweryJayme wrote:Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between food grade and food safe?
