Anyone heard of/use Brewtoad?

Post by dean2k » Tue Nov 13, 2012 5:23 pm

lazy link: http://www.brewtoad.com/

Does anyone have any experience with this site? In particular, I'm wondering about the accuracy of their calculations/estimates in their create a recipe function. Bang on? Ball Park? Or WTF people?!?

Not too sure about this. Beersmith is usually the way most go although there is a one time fee to use it.
Currently At Brookland Brewing, Sydney, NS:
In Kegs: Four Seas IPA, Belgian Witbier
In Carboys: Ordinary Bitter (Bitter Bonnette)
Bottled:
Next Brew: California Lager.

No doubt! But I currently don't need all the bells and whistles of BeerSmith. And I really like the free part!

Try it out if it's free. I can also give you a spreadsheet with all the major calculations if you want.

Brewtarget is also free and has worked out pretty well for me so far.

Sweet. I'll take all the free newb resources I can get. Perhaps I'll do some comparisons and see how the numbers stack up.

There's also Hopville's Beer Calculus. It's pretty popular, but not sure on accuracy, etc. as I don't use it myself other than to share recipes now and again.
