Re: What does it take.....
Nope. I had an upper spine injury(T8/9 T9/10 musculoskeletal damage, scar tissue around spine) due to car accident, car completely wrote off, had to kick the doors open it was so bent up. No word on settlement lawyers workin on it, lost both jobs, cabinetmaker and goldsmith(one highly physical, the other highly finesse and the damage causes me to shake real bad after an hour). Since Ill never get better I need to find something else. As for the lifting Ive seen really cool track setups that pick up a load bucket and dumps it, less lifting. I wanna do 500litres three times a week to keep up production. Found a complete 600 litre system for 22 grand....Basically I can do test brewing, design, marketting etc as well as the big brewing with assistance. Again this is just me burning time and doing up the plan, this is why Id love to try assisting in a brew day at a larger brewery to see if its even physically possible. I wasnt able to get down to RB this week and Im busy all weekend. Maybe next week.

sorry to hear that, that doesn't sound fun
if it's what you love to do, then I'm sure you'll find a way to do it

Have you made any enquiries into Gypsy brewing? I wasn't just making up words, it's a real thing. Grimross in Fredericton is currently doing that. Brew on someone else's system (only have to pay rent instead of paying for the shiny tanks), but everything about the beer is yours.

What kind of system are you looking at? New, used? Before you buy, make sure it's going to work out!

Ill address the gypsy brewing systems. I knew for quite some time what they are and Im not against it. Id love to have an extra ferm and brite so people could do this. Ill look to add it to my business plan. As for the system its a 145 gallon brewkettle(3 imperial bbls or 5 canadian bbl) 120 gallon mash tun, 120 gallon HLT with internal coil for herms/rims, 45 gallon wort grant, all sanitary and vessels all have tangential for whirlpool(except the HLT). 120 gallon ferms are 2200 dollars each and Im looking at 5 of them and 2 brites(2grand each). All in a cold room. Total system cost is 21000 and change including cost for CIP pump and filter, chiller and transfer pump. So.....not bloody bad.

Not made in china, yes stout. Gas with heat shields, and Ill most likely get their 1bbl system at the same time hehehe...for personal use. I will get the 45 gallon system one way or another.

Indeed, get more than 2 ferms lol. Also that system will produce twice their max capacity and thats before even double batching. And that would allow a rolling brew schedule of 5 brews over 15 days and 10 per month meaning 6 thousand litres per month and roughly 14 thousand dollars if point of sale. Btw Id like to meet all you guys at some point for a beer...s.

I was thinking more of the CSA/gas nightmare. Should definitely get together for a brew.

Sorry, I meant you be the Gypsy, as you were remarking about the large outlay of cash required to open a brewery. But 21k doesn't sound unreasonable for what you've described above.Anathema wrote:Ill address the gypsy brewing systems. I knew for quite some time what they are and Im not against it. Lmao..but but Im not a gypsy. Yes my earrings are massive and dangle. No I get what you mean. Like I said a big part of my brewery plan would include the community. I need the community and feel its integral. And I share well with peeps lol. Yeah definitely gotta get together for a brew. Drank some of my brew off submission tonight as a sample and I think Ive got a contender, that one goes in the keeper pile. The brew system is very cheap, 2 k more for a all electric brew system, waiting on a 200 gallon steam heated brew system quote, well see how that turns out.
