Las Vegas

Post by TheLocalTraveler » Mon Dec 30, 2013 10:55 am

Hey everyone! I am headed to Las Vegas for a few days for a conference and have a bit of down time. I know that there has been a recent attempt in Vegas to up the craft beer knowledge and offerings and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions of breweries, brew pubs, or pubs/restaurants with a good craft beer selection. I won't have a rental car while there so I am mostly looking for anything along the main strip or within a 15 minute cab drive from any given area of the strip.

Thanks!

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

If you know where on the strip you'll be staying, you can use one (or both) of these mapping sites for some suggestions (neither of which are complete, but they have the highlights):

http://beermapping.com/maps/citymaps.php?m=lasvegas" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
OR
http://www.ratebeer.com/beermap?p=25384 ... =-11516882" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When I was there a couple of years ago, I thought it was neat to grab a craft beer at Pour 24 in New York, New York. http://www.newyorknewyork.com/entertain ... ur-24.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(Looks like I need to go back, I made the same suggestion in another thread [viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1040&p=10054&hilit ... gas#p10054])

Sin City has some locations on the strip, and I've heard good things about Aces & Ales (http://www.ratebeer.com/p/aces-ales-sou ... gas/14231/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), but it's a bit of a cab ride off the strip.

Haven't been to the LV location, but I loved the Denver location of the Yard House. There's two in LV, depending on where you're staying. http://www.yardhouse.com/NV/las-vegas-r ... wn-square/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is quite close to the airport.

Have fun!

My wife and I were there 2 years ago and the Monte Carlo has a beer bar with hundreds of beer on tap. I remember trying a ton of craft Nevada and surrounding area microbrews. If you want a hole in the wall for cheap craft beer and a good bbq Ellis Island Brewing Co was great as 20 oz craft brews were a $1.75. The beer were not amazing but still pretty good and a 5 minute walk behind Bally's on the strip. I recommend the stout.

I can second this, lots of selection... I tried to do the rainbow there. Also in New York New York is the Sporting House which is where we watched Superbowl last year

I wanted to do this, but no one wanted to split the cab ride which was supposedly around $60. I was told it's possible to get a free shuttle to the general area, but it's a pain in the ass

Have fun! :spilly:
