Fridge Fermenter

Post by ottiscan » Fri Mar 28, 2014 8:24 am

I picked up this "all-fridge" for $60 and threw together the ferment chamber last weekend. It's working very well and although I was mainly worried about summer extreme temps, I think the steady temp will be help now as well.
I did put a heat source in it but my wood stove is still going so the heat side hasn't kicked in yet.

I thought I'd update this fridge fermenter post.

Does anyone have opinions on their preferred heat source for their fermentation chambers.

I have a belt heater suspended under the shelf. This works well but there must be a better way.

Thanks
Lew

I have a lagering fridge with an STC1000 and was going to put a light bulb into a new unused paint can...right now it's only set up to cool but I do have an external Inkbird that I could use to do the job...not sure how they'll play and my electrician is out west making yuge bucks...

I'm using an inkbird and a belt warmer just suspended below the conical.
The fermenter blanket might work. I was also wondering if the ceramic reptile terarium thing would work too.
thanks
