E-HERMS Control Panel Build

Post by bluenose » Thu Jan 19, 2017 7:45 pm

Okie dokie, the time is neigh that the control panel build commences. I've spent well over a year gathering most of the parts and pieces for this build, and the plan is to follow the http://www.theelectricbrewery.com plans pretty close.

I still need the wire, but the question is whether or not I actually require the T90/THWN/THHN type wire or if I can get away with buying some regular 10/4 wire and separating out what I need from that. If that's a no-go, then I'm wondering if anyone has any they can spare or sell, or if anyone wants to go splits on buying some. Please PM me if that's the case.

http://www.theelectricbrewery.com calls for the following wire:

(8 feet) Black 10 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded
(4 feet) Red 10 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded
(11 feet) Green 10 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded
(35 feet) Black 14 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded
(6 feet) Red 14 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded
(21 feet) White 14 gauge type T90/THWN/THHN wire, stranded

If I can get away with regular 10/3 and 14/3 wire, then I only need 12ish and 36ish feet. Zoro.com has two packs of 50' rolls of the 10 gauge wire for 17.50 each.

Stay tuned...

Looking forward to seeing progress pics... I saw a good video online recently where a guy went through his completed build, it was pretty impressive. I'd like to do something similar, someday.
