Looking to brew my first all grain on Friday or Saturday this weekend with assistance from Hogie (coming over from PEI for the weekend). I'm not sure of the recipe, but leaning towards a slightly malty (15 SRM color maybe) West Coast IPA, medium bitterness (say 80 IBU) with a good bunch of cascade and centennial late and/or dry hops.
Anyways, would like to try some California Ale yeast this time, instead of my typical US-04 or US-05. Do any of the NG commonly carry this? If not, anybody in HRM have some they could share (I don't have anything to trade except some US-04 and US-05.. ha, though I do have some odd-ball US craft beers I could barter with).
Thanks,
Anybody have some California Ale yeast (harvested/etc)?

If you mean 1272, I do happen to have some harvested in my fridge in NG. I'll be back in hfx Friday night. Are you doing a 5 or 10 g batch?
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

I have some White Labs California Ale yeast in a starter that should be ready by the weekend. Let's talk.

Thanks Kyle, we'll talk tonight at the meeting.
Curious to hear other's thoughts on Cali Ale yeast versus 1056 / US-05
