Brew crawl?
I was reading about a brew crawl in BC and think it'd be a neat event to emulate here. They bike between a few different homes, each one having two kegs of homebrew on offer (not necessarily the homeowner's), and stay for an hour before biking to the next destination. They take donations for charity at each stop. I feel bad suggesting it because there's almost no way I could host this summer, but I could throw a beer together if people are interested in the idea.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

some of you might have the constitution to drink and operate a bike, but after Saturday's sampling
I'd say I'll have to stick with cabs if I were to keep up with you folks
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Sounds fun to me! Be a good way to get the Brewnosers name out into the 'general' community (advertising to both current homebrewers and to folks in general) and help a charity or two at the same time. Would require some advanced planning to have enough kegs on the go.

I just don't see the biking and drinking thing coming across well. Unless they were tandem bikes with a designated driver, lol.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

There are pockets of brewers (North End, West End, Spry etc) we could walk.

Let's start a private google map of where people who brew and could host live to see where the clusters are and what sort of route we could come up with.

Sounds like a great idea, but I don't think I'd be into biking after a few.

Too much work for me. If everyone lived on the same street it would be awesome!

Re: Brew crawl?
No one would be forcing anyone to consume several large glasses at each stop... A half pint of each beer, for example, wouldn't impair most people. Of course, if the feeling is that this is just pure danger and no one wants to do it, then so be it.

Re: Brew crawl?
I guess a small clarification - I think it would be a lot of fun, as long as everyone was responsible. My issue was more with it being an open-to-the-public sort of activity like in BC, I feel the publicity would be mostly negative.benwedge wrote:No one would be forcing anyone to consume several large glasses at each stop... Metro Transit probably connects it all.
