Keith You Slacker

Post by GuingesRock » Thu Oct 08, 2015 9:18 pm

Keith. You’ve been slacking. I was away 5 months and you are only 500 posts ahead of me now. I know you missed your sidekick but you need to step it up a bit.

What are you up to? How's Stanley?

Slacker is right. Doing great, Stanley is fully stocked with a great line up. Busy at work, have a new 1 barrel setup (brewing 15-20gals tho) and trying to reload all the kegs. This next brew is putting me over capacity. Have to invest on a couple more kegs. I'm sure you'll surpass the post count in no time lol. I say by the new year.

Nah, not a chance. Just giving you a dig in the ribs. I was missing the humor and innovation you contributed here. Good going with the Christmas advent thing. If I get to brew at Beau's I was thinking I'd like to chuck in a case, but it may not happen any time soon.

Yea keep us posted on the beau's brew. As for the Advent if work keeps at this pace I'm going to pass the reigns onto someone else.

NO! You're the king of the advent ...how could you! I knew there was trouble afoot. All work and no play makes Keith a dull boy. :)

Just an idea that took off haha. Plus I'd rather contribute more to other areas of the club and community where I can. Just a redirection of time.

On that note. Let’s be positive and encouraging to all who enter the brewing world and our fellow brewers on this site. Encourage all brewers (new and old) and support them. That’s where you shine Sir. I know for a fact you have sent meaningful and much appreciated personal messages to new members, welcoming them. If there is nothing more close to you heart, it’s the Brewnosers. I’ve seen that same thing with the way you are with your kids. Such a warm loving and generous nurturing person. You messaged me after I left and told me to “get the fuck back on the Brewnosers, you got it all wrong”

No one on here needs to have endless pictures of people flipping the finger at them on social media. No one needs to be told they are a “mother fucker” and “go and fuck themselves” on here. No commercial brewer on here needs to be run down and told he doesn’t have a clue how to brew, and he’s a “wanna be brewer”. No one needs to be told he is a flaccid British wanker with no balls either, come to think of it. When I post that someone has achieved a brewing post at Paddy’s and congratulate them, and someone posts and says must go and try the beer, and then someone else posts a threat “no you won’t.”

It’s a dig, yes, but I had a rough time standing up for what I believe in. It’s probably all my fault I know, but this site hasn’t been the same. Where are all the fun people? Where’s Kirsten and Keely (I enjoyed them). What happened? Was it my fault? If it was, I’ll happily bow out and take the consequences that I experienced when I had no voice, of being degraded, threatened, called a “fucker” and run down on social media, and ignore it all.

I want the good old days back. Here’s a picture of a great time I had at your place. That’s my kid there grinning from ear to ear.

Cheers.

There's still lots of positivity on here, and still plenty of friends being made and people hanging out. Last weekend Becky and I went out to Mike & Kims place while Mike and Keith brewed. Later that evening, the group of us went to Stillwell and Tom's for beer.

A few weeks ago was Hoptoberfest - plenty of fun, food and beers to be had. I doubt I'm the only one who feels that the community on here (and in real life) hasn't changed.

Honestly, the only negative posts that I've seen since you've been back have been your own (dissing the forums, bringing up drama that everyone thought was behind us, etc). Let it go and use the forum for what it is meant for (and what you are advocating) - talking brewing and helping build a beer community.

I thought we drank to DROWN our feelings.

I've been doing it all wrong.

I figured you were swamped at the moment because when I bought the kettle off of you, you were weighing out ingredients for "tomorrow" and that batch still hasn't been brewed, lol

Thanks again for the samples and great advice/hospitality, it was good talking to you (and thanks for the bottle of wine, I'll be cracking that open at thanksgiving dinner with the family, which is good because nothing I've made wine-wise is done in time)

haha. I did I say brewing? I think I meant weighing hops. Glad you enjoyed the samples and felt welcome. Like I said, if you have any questions feel free to reach out. As for the brew with weather it looks like it may be delayed to Weds or Thurs.

No you haven't been doing it "all wrong" you are just misquoting. The saying goes "drink to drown your sorrows" and I have none. No one should drown their feelings (unless they have a submissive bent) everyone has a right to a voice, whether it's crap or not.
