Party Invite: Welcoming Tempa back to Halifax/Her 40 Birthda

Post by Brewnoser » Wed Oct 30, 2013 11:05 am

A quick note.

Any of y'all who didn't know, our former very active BrewNosers member, Tempa Hull, has moved back to Halifax. A year ago, she had her 40th birthday in New Brunswick, and really there wasn't much of a party. So we are having it this year (a year later, do the math). I know not everyone on here would be interested, but those of you who are, know who you are.

Saturday November 9 at 6:00 pm. At my place (2325 Clifton)

No gifts other than good beer to share.

Jeff

:welcome:

So. No one coming? Nash will be here. And some other beer geeks. If I have the right people to share with, some fun stuff gets opened.

Was a great beer evening. Nash was here and I pulled out some old things he'd given me, as well as an old RIS Lorne Romano had made a few years back.

Both Greg's and Lorne's RIS examples were wonderful. Classic.

Then a litre if Doppelgänger with pleated scotch added. It was great. When used as the chaser to a shot of Laphroaig, it was sublime. "Fuckin' awwwwwesome" to quote Nash.

Growlers of fresh Boxing Rock DIPA - getting better every batch, some Uncle Leo's smoked porter. Granite Old Cardinal, and Garrison half and half red/IPA. Plus some Belgian treats.

A beerey evening. Tempa was dancing while drunk.

Shes 41 now. Probably still hungover.

Everything in there is true, except Nash swearing. Nash never swears. And I can't confirm the scotch thing 'cause they downed the last of it when they heard I was on my way.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Sounds like a fun time, sorry I missed it. I was at the Poutine and Beer Fest in Fredericton. Not quite as epic beers available, but still a fun weekend. Just missed the King Street Ale House opening (any day now, they say).
